The only thing I ever get "good grades" on when I halfass it... happens to be any creative writing assignment (poetry, short story, etc...). Some say natural talent I guess, but I think it's just lazy proofreading.

I think it's established that teachers will grade half-ass projects better than when we really put a lot into it... seems to be the law of nature at work.

the hilarious thing is that they believe that if I had a year to write the story, I could literally "shit out a novel"... the truth is if you had given me a year we'd end up with a lot of sidetracked thoughts I wrote down at random

Please, when I did NaNoWriMo that was pretty much the entire freaking thing (also, pulling plotlines scribbled on paper out of a top hat, yay!).
