I think I'll be fine with things for the time being, I just wish the bashing I hear at conventions would stop though...

please, as long as there's something to complain about, people will be complaining.

until it gets too old or quickly irrelevant, sure one or two people won't let some things go... but the vast majority tends to move on rather quickly.
like the dub for that one swimming anime...

free was just one of those trendy fanservice moe animu that have been getting pumped out en masse the last few years
sailor moon is a legacy. i expect in some decades we'll be hearing horror stories about the development and work conditions, kind of like how we only learned back in some conference in 2012 about how the original series almost got cancelled.

I was just saying that a lot of things just kinda get forgotten about during con season... only the truly hardcore don't let things die.
I suppose I'm kind of guilty of this as well, I mean I do dig up a lot of gundam stuff and other theories about shows and junk that just kinda died here in the west

it's Toei, nothing they do is ever consistent... and yeah I'm shooting myself in the foot with mentioning their live action sentai shows as well as their other cash cows in One Piece and Dragon Ball Super (the anime mentioned look even more like ass than Crystal does during broadcast... and the live action shows I'm not sure who to blame)
I don't exactly have high hopes, but ANYTHING at this point is better than nothing... I'm surprised all the bitching that everyone seems to have hasn't actually gotten Crystal canned like most of the convention crowd in my area thought was going to happen.

i'm thinking smc is netting toei too much profit since, from all the cost-cutting they did to pump it out, it's serving to help advertise all the shiny new merch they've been shoveling down fans' throats since 2012.
(disregarding most of the merch has been in classic style than the new one)
at least the girls look really nice in the production art they've dropped so far but that will only get us so far; the art from the last person looked astounding but was butchered terribly by the artists in the animation studio doing the frames.

yeah, that's my argument too... these shows still bring in money even if it comes from unrelated products in the merch department

OKAY SO i watched the first 2 episodes of smc's 3rd season and you can tell toei pumped more money into it than they did the first 2 seasons like dayuuum
the new character designs are gorgeous and the voice casting decisions for our fav space lesbians is so??? good??? hold me.
also check dat ending theme. check it. it just screams utena.

I think they finally made enough money to give a damn

Basically. Helps they're starting the season as an actual tv-aired one instead of being web-based. This is the quality I expected from the first two seasons.

yeah, I've noticed other shows were like that too before this point... early on it will be put on the web with some "decent" quality to drum up interest so it can be made better for television

don't get me wrong we're still getting some weird noodle limbs and some odd things but overall? it's pretty good and is leagues above seasons 1 and 2.
people are complaining they all look too generic and moe and suffer from same face syndrome and im like??? they literally looked generic back in the 90's anime in a very common style to other series at the time and they all same-faced so. shush. your face. god.
i'm still disappointed that the transformations and attacks were all basically ripped right from the 90's (sometimes stealing them from when they were juiced up from special episodes/shorts/movies). and venus's transformations is less impressive than the one she had in the first two seasons T:
anyway i'm still watching and still enjoying it which is more than i can say from before, where i quit like 4 episodes in because it was literally unwatchable.

Wow...I kind of neglected watching SMC after episode 7 in the first season...and now it's on it's third season...oops. All I can see is that the animation seems to have improved a good amount.
