Good luck, Kira!
The trick with fiverr is to be /really/ good at what you're selling, and to make it stand out from others. I've been underselling myself up to this point but now that I'm level one I can do ... ADD ONS ... yes thank you wonderful world.
Also some dudebro totally ripped me off istg the things people do to save $5 asshole

I've started buckling down and doing a couple of hours on mturk every day or so recently which is some nice pocketchange
I'm over 300 approved hits as of today; when I hit 500 I'm expecting a lot better hits to become available to me.
also I totally earned like $7 for ~1.5 hours of work so you know not bad considering I would've been sitting on my ass otherwise

I'm finding myself having less and less time lately, convention season is opening up and I'm doing a bit more travel lately with my promotions team to promote the now THREE cons that my chairman runs (in August, November, and January against MUCH LARGER CONS MIND YOU) so I'm hardly home long enough to even check fiverr...
Shit, I'm feeling like I should give up my position with the convention (and therefore surrender my free passes) if I even want to earn money and get a real damn job nowadays.

You're really getting yanked around by the con thing though, especially considering you aren't getting paid. If it's eating into free time you could be using to find a job, yeah. Though I suppose all the devoted work would look good on a resume ... assuming the chairman will heartily vouch for all the work you've put in.

I really wish he was that dependable... chances are he'll not put in a good word for me so he doesn't lose a hard worker, he's already lost a huge chunk of his core crew because they went to start conventions in their home states or they now work for other conventions not affiliated with his.
Not to mention... well, I'm connected to the maid cafe he blacklisted when they tried to negotiate their contract renewal after it expired. I don't have much information about how his con runs, but I have information on how certain operations work and I know how deep the corruption goes... he could ruin me if I ever thought about blackmailing him.

You should really look into maybe getting work for another con; at the very least your experience at this one would look good. In other news, check me having passed the $100 mark on mturk: I've earned like $36 of that in the last 45ish days so go me (my grind is really on this last week though, hooooo).

if I didn't have to move, it would be my intention to go and get a gig working for a convention in Dallas or even Fort Worth... I have a pretty good reputation with the guys who defected from my current chairman and started up their own cons.
Congrats by the way!

Thanks guys!
I'm never adverse to moving to better opportunities, but I can understand why some people would be adverse to it. You could probably still chat up those guys and see if anyone in their network can give you a hand in your area, though.

Their network in my area is pretty much the people I'm working for now, the out of town people are willing to pay for my bus ride out there OR my hotel room... they are still too small to accommodate both for the time being. My meals are always covered though
