Hello everybirdie - today, we begin our journey into the world of romancing pigeons/various other birdthings. Now, you'll notice that this is, in fact, the demo version - I'm not playing the full one simply because Moa, the creator, has asked not to do any LPs playing past summer in the full version, and she's such a sweetie that I won't do so out of respect for her (also because I'm one of those people in the tight-knit Hatoflock who are super protective of Moa ahahaha).
Before we begin, here are a few links:
Now, just because I'm not going to do the full version for you does not mean I will not give you guys a few teasers from it - hopefully to help inspire you guys to buy the full.
I'm starting with the infamous doctor. I'm still undecided if I'm going to run through all the routes, so make your decision wisely as to who you want me to pursue after him (you'll get an intro to the boys in this post).
Mmm birdy boyfriends.
Default name? Yeah, sure, I'm not too creative anyway.
We are, of course, going to display human portraits.
Hiyoko is now in her second year attending this school, known for being the world's greatest gathering place for gifted birds, with the staff and student body being made up of "a diverse blend of birds of difference backgrounds and species." Many question why Hiyoko chose to attend St. Pigeonations, but she is quickly interrupted from her thoughts by ...
Correction: his last name is actually Kawara. This was a source of much fandom confusion for a while.
I like how she says only when starvation looms. Because, you know, she would probably need to be that desperate before eating food prepared by a bird, despite him being her bestie.
The bell rings, Ryouta says jeepers, and he grabs Hiyoko's hand and drags her into the school building.
If only you knew, my dear, if only you knew ...
Hiyoko admires the many faces, both new and old, and wishes for the formation of many happy memories!
Say hello to the teacher. He specializes in math, physics, and "also some other things ... ............................. zzz." Ryouta dutifully yells at him to wake him up, while Hiyoko is a bit surprised to find he sleeps with his eyes open.
He's a cutie patootie.
I've no idea how those segue into one another, but it's probably best to go with the flow when it comes to Nanaki here.
Why you little -
Hiyoko is basically my favorite otoge protagonist to ever exist. Nanaki asks the transfer student to give his name.
Sakuya takes his seat and proceeds to try and make Ryouta and Hiyoko spontaneously combust with his eyes.
Lunchtime quickly approaches. Somehow, Hiyoko is reminded she's had some books out all summer from the school library, and heads off to return them.
Anybirdie ... anyway, Hiyoko is startled a little by the feeling of someone looking at her, but there's no one there.
Hiyoko asks if there's anything he wants from her, and the dove is a bit surprised she spoke to him.
With a bit of prodding, Hiyoko gets some information out of him.
Ahahahahahaha you don't know the half of it.
Nageki turns his attention back to his book, and Hiyoko departs, pondering her frequent meeting of depressing people today. On her way back to class, she encounters something.
Brothers? Hmmm, sounds fishy.
Oh my god I think I can feel my heart tearing apart from the inside shit why am I playing this after BBL revelations?!!!!!!
Yuuya takes note of her presence.
Hiyoko literally has this in her speech box: \(^o^)/
Hiyoko ponders the fact that the two are brothers, calling Sakuya an aristocrat-wannabe, but Yuuya informs her he is, in fact, the genuine article.
I am 80% sure that Yuuya's cheesiness is based off of some Tuxedo Mask cheesiness but no one else believes me. I mean, he even says 'adieu' a shitton!!
Hiyoko speculates on Sakuya being a noblebird, and considers the whole deal with him and Yuuya "twisty business."
The school day draws to a close, and Hiyoko notices Ryouta is missing, questiong Kazuaki as to where he could be.
Ryouta's always been a bit of a frail bird, so this isn't much of a surprise to Hiyoko. Away we go!
Hiyoko gives one last call for Ryouta, not getting a response and pondering if he went home already. She takes a moment to glance at the drugs for no reason.
Shit wha where AR EYOU?!
In case you were wondering, Shuu's theme is Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy. I spent quite a bit of time from Thanksgiving into Christmas jumping in fear whenever it played.
Hiyoko is quick to turn down fat bird's offer.
The last thing I need in my life if a fat ninja doctor bird creeping up on me and trying to shove curious medicines down my throat. And yet, I can't hate this partridge. Sigh, woe is me.
Hiyoko wonders why Ryouta wouldn't find her before heading home. She stammers out an apology before fleeing from 'that den of evil.' With that done, she decides that she'll look into the available clubs.
Birdwatching ... bird ... watching club... I would ... I would join that club ...
Ahem, Hiyoko heads off to look at the track team. She ran in middleschool, and finds it funny watching the birds hop around. She's a bit of an odd one, if you couldn't tell by now.
Fun fact! Okosan is an actual bird that belongs to Moa!
Hiyoko stares at the pudding under his feet, able to tell it's store-bought pudding. She asks what's wrong with it.
He then quite literally zooms off. Hiyoko wonders what the hell pudding has to do with track team.
Don't we all Hiyoko, don't we all ...
Well, we've been introduced to all the romanceable birds. If you looked at one of my posts in the YJB thread, you'll have noticed one extra person there - that would be Anghel, who is only available in the full version.
Start making your decision on who we'll be chasing after I complete Shuu's route. Protip: Okosan and Sakuya's end a bit ... well, non spectacularly. If you want to be bogged down by feelings Nageki's route is the best, with Ryouta's coming a close second. Kazuaki's ending is ... well, it led to a lot of fandom speculation before the full version was ever released. That's all I'll say for now.
Before we begin, here are a few links:

Ryouta: Usually you'd have been ready for an hour by now, Hiyoko! Overslept?
Correction: his last name is actually Kawara. This was a source of much fandom confusion for a while.
He can be a little mischevious, but he's responsible and kind.
Hiyoko: Breakfast was a little hard to catch today ... I can't relax without red meat inside.
Ryouta: Living as a hunter-gathered sounds tough ... I'd be happy to make you breakfast, you know.
Hiyoko: I might take you up on that offer when starvation looms. Thanks, Ryouta!
I like how she says only when starvation looms. Because, you know, she would probably need to be that desperate before eating food prepared by a bird, despite him being her bestie.

I'd heard the rumors, but I hadn't expected him to fall asleep just like that ... Apparently, he's well-known as a mathematician. Just goes to show, great minds come in all forms!
He's a cutie patootie.
I've no idea how those segue into one another, but it's probably best to go with the flow when it comes to Nanaki here.
Why you little -
Nanaki: But he doesn't want to introduce himself ...
Hiyoko: But we can't just let him break the rules like that, sir! The system will collapse and we'll all turn into kulaks and dissenters!
Hiyoko is basically my favorite otoge protagonist to ever exist. Nanaki asks the transfer student to give his name.
He's pretty stuck up. But then, transferring is never easy. I hope we can be friends!
Mourning doves aren't very common in Japan, but apparently they're everywhere in America.
Hiyoko asks if there's anything he wants from her, and the dove is a bit surprised she spoke to him.

I hadn't meant to eavesdrop, but I think I just overheard something juicy! The ever-popular trend-setter and ladies' man Sakazaki Yuuya is Sakuya's brother? I wonder what the story behind that is ...
Yuuya takes note of her presence.
Hiyoko literally has this in her speech box: \(^o^)/
him before, but he's famous, or infamous, throughout the school. Everybirdie knows of him.
Yuuya: You're Hiyoko ... right?
Hiyoko: H-how did you ...!?
Yuuya: I know everybirdie here. Besides, you're the only human. A single poppy in a field of rye. Did you say you were a friend of Sakuya's?
Hiyoko: Not exactly ... we had a rather ballistic introduction this morning. We're in the same class, that's all.

Hiyoko is quick to turn down fat bird's offer.
He's rather creepy in person, and has a bad reputation among the student body. Everybirdie knows that even just talking to him can bring you down with aspergillus, psittacosis, or even worse things. And I never even heard him come in the door.
... ninja doctor!?
The last thing I need in my life if a fat ninja doctor bird creeping up on me and trying to shove curious medicines down my throat. And yet, I can't hate this partridge. Sigh, woe is me.
Hiyoko: Umm, I heard Ryouta ... Kawara from 2-3 was supposed to be here.
Shuu: Him? He's already gone.
He's dancing around on a squished pudding.
He doesn't really look it, but supposedly he's a fantail pigeon.
... I think? Either way, he's hyper.
Fun fact! Okosan is an actual bird that belongs to Moa!
Hiyoko: Betrayal?
Okosan: Cooooo! (Okosan instructed that pudding be provided for new members!)
Coo! (But this is no pudding! Ousted, scorned, betrayed! Dragged into the street and shot by those he trusted best!)
Hiyoko stares at the pudding under his feet, able to tell it's store-bought pudding. She asks what's wrong with it.
Okosan: Coo, coo! (Spare the jests, young lady!)
Okosan: Cooo! (They'll rue the day they crossed Okosan! He'll have them flayed, hanged, shot at dawn! He will!)
Coo! (okosan must now train to achieve true pudding! Farewell!)
He then quite literally zooms off. Hiyoko wonders what the hell pudding has to do with track team.
Don't we all Hiyoko, don't we all ...
