Hmm, not really sure of a good solution then.

May the deities of cosplay guide you on your quest.

Sadly, I must have not prayed properly to them.
I found the top portion of the gakuran at Salvation Army, and nothing from either Goodwill or Wal-Mart.
I need to find a few patterns online and start work on this.

UPDATE:
I bought six yards of blue fabric, blue thread, and gold buttons for my outfit. Patterns online are slim, but I still need the green pants and the yellow sailor sash, which I might try to find on Amazon or Etsy, since Ebay's giving me nothing.
Also, since both my boyfriend and I have lab coats, we're thinking of getting Aperture Laboratories iron on patches for the back. That way, we have a quick cosplay to change into.

Yay! Good luck on your search. Also the lab coat + patches thing is great.

Bought the patches (more like laminate stickers), a yellow sash, and a new shirt for Yusuke since the cheaper one was way too big and the new one looks a bit more like the actual shirt.
My outfit is going to be a bitch, for sure. If I can get the skirt to work, that'd be awesome.

Ugh, skirts can be annoying to make work properly. It's like, you're not that complex looking, why are you so difficult?!

Though I did find a pattern online, my friend decided to help me out and drew me very rough sketches to go off of. Here's to hoping everything works alright.

I give up.
Once the sewing machine broke, my mom (who was actually the one sewing it) gave up. I have no knowledge of how to sew using it. I tried to hand sew, but my stitches suuuuuck. I just gave up and decided next year.
For this year, closet cosplaying. My friend has a kimono for me to try on, which I will. I'm also thinking of bringing some fairly goth looking clothes since she has the crindoline at school. Gothic lolita or maid, anyone?

Mmm, hand sewing is a pain in the ass - not impossible, bu requiring a lot of patience. But hey, closet cosplaying is cool too.
also gothic lolita plz

All of my plans failed miserably.
I need to work on these much, much MUCH sooner.

This is why people plan and make their cosplay like two months in advance - and also why having a plan b is essential.
